Robin Spicer received her BA in Graphic Design & Communications from the prestigious California College of the Arts in Oakland, California. Upon graduating, she moved to the Puget Sound area and began a small, freelance business, while working alongside her mentor and Seattle’s premiere packaging designer, Sam Payne.

Together, Payne and Spicer launched a variety of successful design, packaging and promotions for Northwest products and cottage industries, including Liberty Orchards (Aplets & Cotlets), Specialty Seafoods (now SeaBear), MarketSpice, Darigold, Fratelli’s Ice Cream, Continental Mills (Krusteaz Brands), Made In Washington and many other regional seafood and specialty products.

Spending two years in Juneau, Alaska, Spicer oversaw design and promotions for Boeing’s SE Alaska Jetfoil service, the University of Alaska, Alaska’s Department of Fish and Wildlife, and was instrumental in the production of several books preserving the historic writings, music and photos of SE Alaskan Indians and culture.

Since 1984 and back in “the lower 48,” Spicer continued work in packaging and product design, corporate identity and print promotions, working with many of the rising NW companies such as O’Brien Waterski, Seattle Sports Apparel, Jansport, McCaw Communications, Cooke Cablevision, Apple Computer, Starbucks and AT&T.

For the past twenty years, Spicer has spent much of her personal and professional time supporting her local Issaquah community, including promotions of local business and tourism, the Greater Issaquah Chamber of Commerce, and themes, promotions and retail for the Issaquah Salmon Days Festival, which continues to win top regional, national and international awards for overall design and marketing.

Passionate about her work creating market-appropriate and result-oriented design solutions, Spicer continues to reside in Issaquah where she shares her love of design, community and the Northwest with long-time partner Rob, and their four-legged daughter Lakota.
